Corporate Videos-All work

Opportunities

-There are several reasons as to why someone would respond to a brief. The most important reason that someone would respond would be because they feel they need to negotiate what has been requested from them by the client. They may have seen something that would either be requesting to much of them or may even have some ideas on how they could work around it. Being able to negotiate the brief could help both the client and the employee to fine tune the work until they both reach an understanding that can lead to a better outcome of work.

-There were certain moments when making the corporate video in which I found I was able to expand my knowledge into different scenarios. One situation involved us having to go free hand when filming and so I had to change the framing of the shots and how they would change the video. I had to adapt to the environment we were filming in.

-During production I had learned many new skills that I can later put to use in either Pre-production, Production and Post-production. In post-production I learned some knew skills in editing such as the different ways in which titling can affect the interviews we used.
A skill

-The one chance I had to multi-skill was when we shot the interview and I had to frame the shot and make sure that the sound was working. It was tricky to film as we had no earphones to listen to the audio as the interview was carried out. We didn't know the quality of the audio until we got to watch it back in post. We did have to make several changes to the audio in the interview to make it the highest quality we could as it would be playing over the footage throughout the corporate video.

-I contributed to the following aspects of the brief:
-I filmed and recorded the sound for the interviews with the head of Nursing
-All crew members filmed different cutaways at different areas of the James Paget
-In the editing stage of the production I was in charge of the titling and cutaways

James Paget Corporate Brief

Negotiating a Brief

-When we made our corporate videos, we had good time to negotiate the brief of the video our client made. We pitched to them the ideas we had for the certain area of the brief in which we were working on. We then received feedback and had the chance to discuss the important areas and aspects of the project that regarded our topic and also get ideas from the clients themselves. This allowed us to have the chance to fine tune the most important and the most effective ways in which we could approach the project. We realized what we needed to use, what ideas worked/what ideas didn’t work, we learnt more about the area we were working for and how the end product could look.
-It would depend on the type of brief put forward by the client regarding how much room you would have for your own creative input. In almost any brief there would have to be room for negotiation as if both sides (the client and the employee) have an input than they will both be able to reach a better understanding of how they work and more importantly how they can get around any issues regarding the brief.
-The most important thing we had to take in to account when making the corporate video was that we didn't negatively represent the James Paget Hospital. We also had to make sure that we didn't accidentally or purposely reveal any patient information when shooting in the business areas and computers that held the information. We did accidentally capture some small patient and employee information in one of the shots, so we had to completely scrap the shot.

-After we had finished the James Paget corporate video, we had the clients come in and review the videos regarding each area of the James Paget Hospital. They offered some criticism and gave us points that they felt we needed to change and in our video. In our case, they requested that we changed the beginning of the music to be more jolly and remove some cutaways that didn't fit.
