Reflection of Depict Short

Pre-Production

In pre-production I enjoyed planning the shots on the story board the most as it made the filming stage a lot easier and allowed me to get the ideas in my head on paper which was very relieving and was just a very fun collaborative process as we were able to have many ideas flowing at once which benefited the production a lot. The storyboard was the best way for me to get an understanding of how each shot would work and give us a very rough idea of how the short film would look.

The element of pre-production that I enjoyed the least was writing down the shot list as it was a less creative version of the storyboard and i felt that it limited my creativity as it was just simple notes and shot types. It was less creative than the storyboard as it didn't allow me to visually review the shots that we had. The shot list wasn't able to allow me to get an idea of how the film would look. It was just a less helpful version of the storyboard.

During production everything went smoothly but a certain element of production that went really well was the editing process. Once we had all of the footage and sound on the computer, we were all able to throw in our ideas to get the best edit we could. The final film was a product of great ideas from everyone involved in the film and editing process. Everyone had each had good time to edit as we all shared the process which ultimately resulted in what we believe is a good edit. We encountered very few problems during editing  It was also a very fun process as we all had a good time editing something we are very proud of.
